3 time national award winner and Malayalam movie star Mammootty has started a reality show in search of young actors and actresses. The show is called “Mammootty-The Best Actor Award 2009” was first aired on Asianet TV on Saturday. More than 1000 aspirants came to join the talent hunt programme. Out of them only 16 were selected, out of which 6 are female contestants. They will have to perform in front of the judges in every episode.

As Mammootty has started his own production house called Play House, he has decided to give chances for young and new faces in his movies.The show will be broadcasted every Saturday and the grand finale will take place in Dubai in October. The panel of judjes include Jagathi Sreekumar, Urvashi, Sreenivasan director Sidhique and also actor Nedumudi Venu.

Play House has already signed in 3 movies which will have the superstar in the lead role. Being the first episode of the talent hunt search, he decided to show his face. He will again be seen in the finale of the programme. Being the chairman of the Communist Party based channel Kairali TV , he decided to launch the programme o Asianet. When asked about the matter he smiled and said that the proposal was put forward by Asianet and he felt it was good and so agreed. But, there has been rumors that Mammootty knowingly gave the programme to Asianet as the channel was more competitive than Kairali TV.

Malayalam movie star Mammootty has decided to become a producer and distributor, with his new production company called PLAY HOUSE. The production house has already lined up three movies for this year. One of them will have Mammootty himself in the lead role. One of them will be a Jayaram movie which is directed by Akku Akbar. He also told that there would be movies by Shyama Prasad and Lal Jose.

Mammootty, who has been one of the main leads in the Malayalam movies for the past 26 years has shown his acting skills through more than 300 movies. The three time national award winner told that the production house will mainly focus on new faces and opportunities will be given for both film and drama. The name of his production house means theatre itself and so according to him there is nothing else to ask about it.

The inaugration of the production house had many film personalities including hit director pairs like Siddique and Lal.

About The Movie

Mammootty is back with an action packed movie called Vande Mataram which is all set to be released in Tamil and Malayalam. In Tamil, the movie will be called Aruvadai. Tamil star Arjun will also be seen in a lead role.

The movie is an action thriller in which Mammootty and Arjun play the role of Police Officers. Mammootty is an officer called Gopi Krishnan from the Intelligence and Arjun plays the role of an SP called Anwar Hussain.
Both of them are assigned to hunt down criminals who are ready to cause destruction in the TN-Kerala border. They plan an operation for this called Operation Malik, which was named after the criminal named Malik, who is the head of the terrorist organization. Both of them are assigned to trace each and every move of the terrorists and respond according to it. The role of Malik, the terrorist is played by Deepak J.D.

The climax of the movie was fully shot in Sengundram. The movie also has actress Sneha as the wife of Mammootty and also working as a pilot. Sharadha Arya also plays a lead role in the movie and is introduced as the lover of Arjun. Filled with action packed sequences and mind filling patriotic scenes, the movie will hit the theatres on the 4th of July. A total of Rs.14 Crores is spent on the movie. Do not miss it!!!
